A huge thanks to the people of Ngai Tahu Auckland, who stayed here over the weekend of 28th, 29th and 30th September to carry out  a range of tasks that they had volunteered to do for Schlaepfer Park. They arrived all set for a weekend of hard work armed with a water blaster, scaffolding, cleaning gear, painting gear, chainsaw, and various other tools.  By the end of the weekend, the buildings had all been power washed and water blasted, windows re-puttied, scraped, sanded and painted then cleaned. The Browne Hut was the main target and has been tidied up and the 1st coat of the new colour has been applied. Trees have been trimmed back around the buildings and an old concrete tank stand has been demolished. What was left of our pile of gravel was spread on the drive and parking area. The memorial to the Schlaepfer Family was cleaned up and now looks like new.
